Road Traffic Back To Pre-Covid Levels. Road traffic during weekdays is finally back to pre-Covid levels.  Data published today by the Department for Transport shows that on Friday 28 May, movements for all motor vehicles were at 104% of the equivalent weekday in February 2020 for the first time since the lockdowns began.

Leading breathalyser firm AlcoSense has issued advice to help employers reduce risk when carrying out alcohol testing for safety-critical staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drivers are being warned they are more than twice as likely to be breath-tested in December than any other month. In December last year, Police stopped 48,804 motorists on suspicion of drink driving.  The average for the other 11 months across England and Wales was 23,043.
